Subsequent government activity reinforced the message that UAP reports were a legitimate intelligence and aviation-safety issue. The 2021 ODNI assessment did not state that the United States possessed recovered non-human craft. It did not mention crash-retrieval programmes. It did not confirm reverse-engineering efforts. Likewise, later public reporting from AARO and associated Defence Department reviews did not provide public evidence that recovered alien vehicles had been verified.
